Visit to Derry
Members of the LCSP travelled to Derry in September for a two day information event hosted by Derry Strabane Policing and Community Safety Partnership, PCSP. Attendees were joined by Assistant Garda Commissioner Hillman, Assistant Secretary General on Criminal Justice Policy Ben Ryan, Olivia Keaveney Probation Services Deputy Director, and Darragh Bailey Probation Services Regional Manager and other senior State department representatives.

The event was a great success and supported all to gain a vision of how a Partnership is operating in other jurisdictions and what might be possible for the Dublin NIC Partnership. There was a valuable exchange of information and knowledge and excellent links were forged that it is hoped the two partnership will build on. Partnership members that were in a position to attend brought back a renewed vision for the LCSP.
Dublin NIC Partnership went on to participate in a supported workshop with the view to focus on the specific topics for our Safety Plan. The Derry trip enabled the Partners discuss issues from a broad perspective and were supported to look deeper than the issues presented but to look to the root cause and start to focus on addressing root cause issues. A report is currently being compiled on the outcomes of this event and a plan is being formulated to move now to the next stage of compiling the Safety Plan.
